The Saints from Salem, Oregon stayed at the Palmya Inn during their visit to New York. The staff of the inn treated us most kindly, and the facilities were outstanding. The Palmyra Inn is a 5-minute walk from the Sacred Grove, 2 miles north of Hill Cumorah, 5 miles south of the Martin Harris farm, and less than 5 miles south of the E.B. Grandin Publishing Building, and Alvin Smith's gravesite. Twenty-five miles southeast of the Palmyra Inn, one can visit the Peter Whitmer Sr. farm, and 100 miles southeast is Harmony, Pennsylvania (now Oakland, PA). Sharon, Vermont is 300 miles to the east, and Kirtland, Ohio is 250 miles to the west.
